Because the bounty hunters are basically using the same mutually assured destruction deterrent strategy as the USA and USSR did during the Cold War, and that ended well, right? Certainly it would work in a world where Dr Strangelove would be closer to a documentary than a farcical comedy…
Also, I think “weird hot moth lady” is the best possible four word description for Crunch. Bravo.

This is true. Actually, a common flaw to all deterrents is that they don’t work against people who are too stupid to be deterred.
